Exotic Vanilla Liqueur

Ingredients

  • 5 vanilla pods
  • 250 g of brown sugar
  • 500 ml of agricultural rum
  • 500 ml of water

Preparation steps

  1. Split the vanilla pods lengthwise and cut them into three pieces.
  2. Place the vanilla pods in a bottle with the rum.
  3. Allow to macerate for 8 to 10 days.
  4. In a saucepan, mix the brown sugar and water and bring to a boil over low heat for 5 minutes.
  5. Let the syrup cool.
  6. Filter the rum and mix it with the syrup.
  7. Reserve the liqueur for another 8 to 10 days before serving.
