Berry Syrup

Enjoy the flavors of berry cocktails without the mess with our Berry Syrup. This pre-made syrup allows you to fully indulge in the tastes of berries without any clean-up hassle. This recipe is versatile and adaptable to your tastes. A mix of raspberries and blackberries is perfect for a rich, tart flavor, but you can also go for a single-type berry like just raspberries or blackberries. Strawberries and blueberries are also great options. 


Ingredients

  • 250 gr of berries of your choice
  • 400 g of superfine sugar
  • 250 ml of water

Preparation steps

  1. In a saucepan, mash the berries into the sugar with a rubber spatula or the back of a spoon, then add water.
  2. Heat on low, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved; this should take no longer than 10 minutes. (Do not allow the syrup to boil to preserve the bright, fresh berry flavor and avoid a cooked-berry-pie taste.)
  3. Remove from heat and let sit for 20 minutes.
  4. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve and discard the solids.
  5. Store the syrup in the refrigerator, where it will keep for two weeks.
