Oat and Red Berry Smoothie

This smoothie blends the softness of oats with the freshness of red berries to create a nourishing and refreshing drink. Perfect for a quick breakfast or a light snack, this smoothie offers a great boost of healthy and natural ingredients. 


Ingredients

  • 120 ml water
  • 30 g quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 120 ml light almond milk or fat-free milk (divided into 60 ml for the first part, and 60 ml for the second)
  • 75 g fresh or frozen unsweetened strawberries, partially thawed
  • 75 g fresh or frozen unsweetened pitted dark sweet cherries, partially thawed
  • 15 to 30 ml almond butter
  • 15 g honey
  • 120 g small ice cubes

Preparation steps

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the water and oats. Microwave for 1 minute. Stir in 60 ml of milk. Microwave for another 30 to 50 seconds or until the oats are very tender. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  2. In a blender, add the oat mixture, the remaining 60 ml of milk, strawberries, cherries, almond butter, and honey. Cover and blend until smooth, scraping down the container as needed.
  3. Add the ice cubes; cover and blend until smooth.
  4. Serve in glasses and, if desired, top each serving with additional fruit.
